I am interested in reading a thesis written by a relative while working on their master's at LSU.
How would I go about finding it ? It would have been written in the early 1940s. Are they available to the general public to read ?
Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

They didn't even have computers then, what did he write it on? His phone?

Cause I've seen phones from back then, they were terrible.

Look up name in the LSU library system. It may hard copy on a shelf. Most likely from that long ago it was either thrown away, is in a storage facility and they will not be happy to retrieve it for you, or it's stored with whatever college/dept he graduated from.

Call Middleton Library. Student workers probably need something to do.

It's already been said, but just go to the library. You should be able to find the location using a terminal, and then you'll need staff help to retrieve it. Carve out a day.

At one time my thesis was indexed and shelved in the library. I don't know if they still do that, or if there's a time limit on how long they keep them.

Microfilm at the Library is probably your only chance

Contact the department where they got their degree or find out if the library keeps a copy on hand.

You are probably being funny but in case you asking a serious question, it was probably written on a typewriter.

You have to go to the library for that. Not a lot of those theses are online.

Go ask one of the directors. They have thousands of those Thesis in little black books all throughout the library from all time.

I remember looking at some written over 100 years ago with zero desire to read them

Call Middleton, they will provide you with a lot more information. If I am not mistaking, I think there is an area on the first floor where student workers look up old shite... As in hard copies of things.. Its probably not as hard to find as you think.

I don't have a PAWS account, will someone search for mine?

Last name Noel, thesis about machining Teflon with soft X-rays.

ETA: Thread killer post if there ever was.

Something you just think when you read one, can't dare reply though.
