So I got a katana this year for Christmas and want to become proficient in using it. What are some of the best martial arts dojo’s in the Baton Rouge area where I can learn how to safely and responsibly use my new tool.

You just missed Renaissance Fest in Hammond. Lots of dudes beating each other with sticks.

They have some sort of club. You should look into it.

I find that the ren fest’s in la have way too many historical inaccuracies for my like... plus I have been gifted a katana. If I had been gifted a broadsword or battle axe, training at the ren fest might make more sense. I’m looking for something with a little bit of Asian flair

Let us know how your conversation goes with someone teaching you to use a katana.

Do like the gif though. Hopefully I am quicker to the draw. I plan on keeping it concealed in its scabbard until the last possible second. That guy revealed too soon.

Assassination of Inejiro Asanuma (1960) By 17 year old ninja, Otoya Yamaguchi - I don't think he learned that katana-ninja stuff in BR, tho.

Not sure where you live, but the Martial artist, Hoo Flung Poo has a great course on defense, and using martial art weapons, such as katana, stars, etc
