More info

This kinda seems strange.

quote:

Wheeler told police that a few weeks prior, the alleged victim in the case had been at her house and disclosed that when he had been a 17-year-old student in Lahiri’s study hall class she had friended him on Facebook and later sent him a website link that said “don’t open until you are eighteen.” The teen told Wheeler that when he opened the link it “sent him to a porn site with Lahiri on it,” according to the report.

Why was the boy at the cafeteria worker’s house? Time to do some work finding that link.

serious question. is there a database somewhere recording teacher / student sex crimes? Like the Washington Post Police Shootings website?

If the student is 17 or 18, it shouldn't be a crime.

I don't think a college professor should bang the professor's students either - but it shouldn't be a crime.

Interesting entry into her blog from a few years ago:

quote:

I was born with too many nerve endings. An official diagnosis wasn’t made until I was 37 years old.

Think of a feeling — any feeling. Now imagine holding a super strong 20x magnifying glass up to that feeling. This magnification is what I feel.

When a “normal” person holds my hand, they may feel a warm hand, but I feel tingling micro-sensations transferred to and from the cells in our palms and fingers. Every touch – good or bad – is intense.

But extend that disorder of having too many nerve endings to the emotions. At that boundary between the body and the emotions, is where the physical disorder becomes a personality disorder.

Yes, my intensity of feeling is as much emotional as it is physical. A “normal” person feels joy, but I feel like a tsunami of bliss has knocked me over and washed me to shore.

a “normal” person feels a bond with another, but I feel an open-ended, deep love — very quickly. And this is where things get tricky, especially as a teacher.

Years ago, I was intensely bonded to my students. I loved them quite like a mother loves her children. The loyalty, dedication, and protectiveness I felt ran so deep that leaving them was, literally, excruciating. I didn’t understand why I felt such intense attachment to my students and I didn’t know how to cope with letting them go, year after year.

Yes, love. I am a teacher with too many nerve endings, but the pain of loving kids and then letting them go over and over again is, in the end, quite worth it. The brick wall has been removed, and I have never loved teaching more.

What's wrong with these 17 year old guys that they would rat out after getting some?
Are they trans or gender confused or something?

There is a teacher from a small Louisiana town that my in-laws are from that just got busted for sleeping with a student. Nothing in the news or reported by any media. She is married but the kid is 18. She also reportedly sent nudes to a 16 year old. No charges have been filed. The teacher resigned when a parent went to the school. I’m surprised that she won’t be charged because even if 18, it’s still a crime. Must have good lawyer if it’s been kept relatively quiet.
