Work with me here. What is the point of marriage counseling other than spending a lot of money? If someone is already headed toward divorce then why bother fighting it off?
If a woman is talking splitting up, then the ship is sunk.

What am I missing?

And not it's not for me.

Horrible thread. Not worthy of an actual explanation.

Nothing in your mind, but it's probably why you need counseling.

Not everybody waits til they're that far gone. Some couples will go before it gets there.

I'm guessing. I've never done marriage counseling.

Quick Answer:

Relationships are work. Counseling can help with that.

Because sometimes people can’t see the forest for the trees and need someone from outside the relationship to show them that.

It's not me having the issue; a neighbor.

Did you mean to quote my reply to your OP with your alter account instead of the one you used to make the OP?

False. Sounds like you probably just complain too much.

I'd advise you/him to step up and take charge of the marriage and go to counseling even if she doesn't go at first. You'd be surprised how quickly things will change for the good.

HAHAHAHA. Me and my partner are pretty perfect, actually. We do this little thing called "communicate" which has really done wonders for the whole relationship thing. Some people aren't good at it and counseling can help with that. Relationships aren't always gonna be flowers and rainbows and unicorn farts; sometimes it's compromise and understanding your partner's perspective of things.

Oh and the woman is always right. There is that too.
