Tough to do when the cops who killed a child are not talking, after being caught in numerous lies, they may have gotten away with killing the dude, too bad there was a six year old in the vehicle.
Do you know how many murders are solved when the suspect refuses to cooperate? You act like if they keep their mouth shut it goes away

These aren't bangers from Magnolia! They are supposed to go above and beyond and have broad powers over the average citizen! Yet they clam up like crack dealers from the project, what abject POS thugs! They should represent a higher standard.

Yeah that ship sailed awhile ago. I hate to disappoint anyone that thinks LEO represent anything above the average citizen (at best).
If there's any higher standard, it's the crime necessary to be taken off the streets compared to John Q Public.

Oh give me a fricking break. You have guys getting paid a shite wage, barely trained, and likely already washed out from other departments and you expect a high standard!?
Define this standard, then pay accordingly, then be upset about the results. With the politics, pay, and hiring practices, you've lowered the standard considerably
And again, I'll repeat myself. These guys are suspected criminals. They should be afforded the same rights as any other suspected criminal.

Then WTF are they doing driving around in cop cars with guns! We should abolish all Constables, City Marshals and every MPD below pops of 100k

If all this is true then instead of excusing murders they commit maybe lets just not give them guns? Crazy notion I realize but if they suck maybe put them on drunk duty at the Ihop until they demonstrate some competency?

No. It's pretty obvious we had been overestimating the quality of some people in the profession.

I'm from a small town. No one I knew growing up wanted to be a cop when they graduated. Of those I graduated with the on3s that became cops were the unintelligent and delinquent.

New advocate article out this evening...
Yeah... So the local marshal in charge of ward 2 is an uncertified bus driver... Let that sink in for you.
Sounds like a power hungry bus driver goes on a power trip and a six year gets killed. Voinche is really the one responsible for this.

Eta: this kind of busts the "we had him cornered" theory

Key details of the shooting remain a mystery even to the investigators, as two of the four agents in the event have refused to speak to authorities as of Friday night, prompting a rare public expression of misgivings toward officers by their law enforcement counterparts.
“It’s more concerning the longer it takes (for them) to talk to us,” said Louisiana State Police Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson, who is overseeing the shooting investigation. “All we want to know is what happened.”
Had his own troopers been involved in a similar altercation, he said, “we would have already interviewed them.”

No use-of-force policy exists for the Marksville Police Department, said Smith, nor are there guidelines on shooting at vehicles, a practice frowned upon by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, an umbrella agency for law enforcement groups.
The shooting laid bare tensions between the city of Marksville and a local marshal agency led by a school bus driver who lacks basic law enforcement certification. Marksville Mayor John Lemoine previously told The Advocate that Ward 2 Marshal Floyd Voinche Sr. recently began recruiting part-time officers and obtaining squad cars to issue tickets, without permission from city officials.
Multiple efforts to reach Voinche were unsuccessful Friday.
Voinche is not certified by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Council, according to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.

On Tuesday night, three of the officers stopped an SUV driven by 25-year-old Christopher Few, claiming they were pursuing a warrant, said Edmonson. “No warrant has materialized,” he said.
The officers, later joined by a fourth, cornered Few at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Taensas Street in Marksville, a crossing allowing through traffic, contrary to some reports it was a dead-end.
Investigators found evidence of at least 18 rounds fired from two officers’ weapons in one direction into Few and his young son Jeremy David Mardis, Edmonson said, adding that there was no gun in Few’s SUV

Starting to look like he may not have even fled.
