$28k bump in price and the dealership can't afford a printer to print the sticker?

this is an extreme example of "market adjustment" but i have to think many people are going to be severely upside down even with their chevy's, fords, etc. when they go to trade in.

That's a really good deal on that Venture Seal though.

I am so glad I am not in the market for a vehicle. I can only imagine how smug dealerships are right now.

Upside down on their trade? Trade in values are high also since there’s so little new inventory. My last couple one ton trucks were traded for their original sales price. Current 2022 F250/F350s are on lots with a $5,000-$10,000 mark up. You have to order a truck and wait a few months if you want the usual invoice/x-plan pricing

I doubt they are.

Probably more worried about losing their jobs. Most people buy cars out of want now and not need. Want can be killed by crazy markups.

Most dealers would prefer to sell volume and not market adjustment.

WC Fields statement applies to anyone paying a markup on a vehicle.

I've noticed the '22 models have been priced 2-3 higher than last year (in the under 40k market).

I wonder if/when the chip shortage ends if the prices will plummet.

There are a few dealer groups in the country that have forbidden this practice.

What happens to all the 20 and 21 models that have been sitting idle for 2 years now, is it even worth trying to get into one of those. Sitting up like that can’t be good for the vehicle itself.

WC fields apparently had no understanding of economics and markets.

I’m a Ford stockholder but I’ve never used xplan because I could get pretty good deals without it.

Does xplan give me a leg up in this market? I wasn’t in the market for a new truck but is it worth it?

The sales people gotta be making a ton of money right now. They are selling fewer cars but the profit margins on them is way higher now.

X plan would help you out a lot right now, but it’s the dealers choice to accept it. I doubt anyone will right now.

Actually he understood it very well. Hence his famous statement.

Bought my truck last week. They took xplan. Just had to provide them with the pin.
