It is wayyy less harmful than alcohol and is natural so I don't understand why in 2018 it is still illegal federally. Make it legal and tax the shite out of it. Louisiana wouldn't be in a financial crisis if they did this.

Actually alcohol is brewed in sterile distilleries by clean Americans that love their job. Weed is manufactured by Mexicans (and they poop in the fields) that are held at gunpoint by the cartel

Plus nobody ever got hooked on beer and I personally know at least 20 people that are addicted to marijuana

I thought we had reached a consensus that locking people up and ruining lives over weed was ridiculous

Oh are you potheads mad that you’re finally having to face the persecution from law enforcement that us normal upstanding drinking Americans have always faced? You can basically drive around high terrorizing the streets and not get in trouble but have one beer at lunch or use too much cologne and a cop will pull you over for no reason and throw you in jail with dangerous criminals

Lol. If you’re smoking, it’s less than that.

If you’re having to move to harder marijuana to get your fix then you’re definitely addicted

we no longer do pre-employment testing for alcohol or THC. its stupid and has nothing at all to do with the potential quality of the candidate(s)

i really dont care what people who work for us do when they are not at work, and if they drink/smoke while on the clock we have policies in place to address it

Companies that are government regulated (safety) or have huge liability issues are struggling with how to police this.

If you legalized it, there would be standards for production. I personally know a lot more alcoholics and peoples whose lives were ruined from alcohol a lot more than I do marijuana. i am sure part of this is due to the amount of drinkers vs smokers but at least from my experience, alcohol is way worse for both health and addictive qualities.

It’s simple. If the dope heads are in jail then we don’t have to worry about them applying for jobs

any employee (myself included) can be sent to gulf coast testing for an immediate test at any time as a condition of their continued employment

there’s a little more to it than that but that’s the gist

I think the reason for this is because we lock non violent people up for just having one beer or for small quantities meanwhile the cops look the other way on marijuana

Yea pretty much except I'm more Libertarian/Independent. I'm not saying tax it at 30% but tax it the same as alcohol and you would see a lot more tax dollars from the sales plus less resources to finding, convicting and imprisoning marijuana offenders.

In 2018, there is absolutely no reason for it to be illegal.

I NEVER said that but I am tired of each year hearing about the "fiscal cliff". No matter how much money the government gets, they will still always say it is never enough. My biggest point of legalizing it is to lessen the resources wasted on it.

You realize this already happens, right?

unfortunately, yes... a buddy's dad actually passed all blood, breath, and urine tests and allegedly failed some of the field tests. obviously the blood or urine took a few weeks to get back, unfortunately for buddy's dad he was a jr high principal. the dui headline was page 1, retraction was page 12.

Colorado didnt exactly solve their problem by legalizing pot.

If you are shitty with spending money then making more money doesnt solve the root problem.

It's not that people really want it taxed, it's that you have to give the politicians incentive to legalize it, otherwise it's nothing but risk for them.
