Glad everything worked out tonight for the most part

It was actually pretty enjoyable. With the late start, there was essentially no rain during the parades. Ground was wet, but we had tarps down which were easily swept off. Also, the recent work on the St. Charles neutral ground (new curbs with drain gaps) is helping it to drain better, at least in our area.

With Chaos pulling out of the lineup, and lots of school bands pulling out as well due to the weather, the night wasn't nearly as long, and much more manageable.

Agreed. Last night was great. Big crowds and great weather.

So what’s the latest assessment for Thoth?

Accuweather hourly forecasts have it looking like the opposite of last year.

Last year, we got rained on while waiting on the float on Tchoup and had a dry ride. This year looking like we will be dry while waiting on Tchoup and get wet during the ride.

Any updates on Endymion Saturday? Last night it went from 80% to 20%

It looks good. Rain that does happen should be light and short lived. Endymion finally gets a good day.

You mean good as opposed to a complete washout, right?

Yes, good as it the weather looks good for Mardi Gras-ing.

Thoth is the difficult one still, as it is the timing of the line. Bacchus too but to a lesser extent as they might just be able to wait it out.

Sidebar: Anybody else come into NOLA today over the spillway? The water off the Mississippi is cold enough it produced a little advection fog. Temp on the dash in LaPlace was 72. It was 66 by the end of the spillway. And 72 by the time I got by the airport.

Last night was a great parade night. I’m not even upset about getting a parking ticket!

Question regarding Chaos... I understand those members have other options, but what happens with the floats? Are they just totally scrapped? Hate they didn’t get to roll. It’s an enjoyable parade.

What will get me is on Sunday we get rained on during the day but it will be warm but by the time Bacchus rolls it will be windy with the temp heading down precipitously

That wind is going to have a bite. Look at Dallas and OKC for the past couple of days. That is the airmass coming this way. Actually have my lighter ski jacket.

Would it not be better to bump all 3 day parades to a 1:00/1:30 start? Not sure why they would want to move them earlier. Duke, call these scheduling people and tell them to start making some sense.

I think the thought is, move it forward and see if the radar cooperates. You can always move it back.
