They basically refurbished a lemon

It may be nothing and was completely fixed but for it to be a lemon, it spent a ton of time at the dealership getting fixed and all that time, they never could figure out what was wrong.

Most of the time if it’s a lemon, it had serious issues and just didn’t work like fuel, exhaust, or gas going where it shouldn’t

Dealer got back to me. Official buyback reason was “dead battery”. The battery has been replaced several times and they did several out of normal sequence electrical checks. Dealer says no issues anymore.

ChatGPT thinks it could be a parasitic battery draw? I put all paperwork into Chat and it says it’s risky.

ETA:

The previous owner took wonderful care of it though and GM offering 12k mile 1 year full warranty on it after repairs.

Electrical issues are a nightmare.

If they stand by their word, make them give a better warranty. 3yrs 36k or something like that.

No issues as in "we located the problem and it was _______" or "I be damned... we all laid hands on the fender, said a prayer, and the next day the truck was fine" no issues?

Good Call

It is a roll of the dice. Problems have solutions -- if you have the skill, tools, time, and patience to find them.

Branded title cars are crazy hard to unload, even if the original problem is fixed.

I drove 3 hours to buy a 40th anniversary edition of a 370Z and when we were discussing payment, cash, the guy casually mentioned lemon. I was taken aback and pissed it was not mentioned on the phone with me before I drove there. He said it was the engine light was coming on intermittently. We cut a deal for less money and I had the ECU reset, changed a MAF sensor and we still have it and it has always ran great.

But, I would usually just walk away. But….i wanted that car.
