Is the pogie plant still in Cameron? Don't be downwind if it is.

Negative. They used to stage that stinky shite in a warehouse by my grandparents farm in Holmwood. It was definitely potent.

No, the last one closed about 10 years ago, I guess. Maybe longer.

There used to be three or four of them down there.

Back when they were cooking fish off of unrefrigerated boats, you could smell it 30 miles away when the wind was right.

Does Bougolusa still have that paper mill? I haven't been there in years, but it used to be pretty bad. That gets my vote.

The worst smell from a business has to be from a rendering plant.

When we reluctantly go back to BR to visit family twice/year, I hate passing through Livingston parish because it smells like a landfill, because it is a landfill.

Have you ever been to Pascagoula, MS, when the paper mill and pogey plant are cranked up?

Stand on the tarmac in Luanda and bask in the burnt jet fuel, rotting garbage, and human feces.

You’ll catch shite for this but I haven’t smelled the Bogalusa mill in a long time.

creosote
paper mills
pogie plants
feed lots
chicken processors
gas plants with h2s
poorly run sewer plants

IDK, creosote in pineville doesn't bother me much. I lived in Springhill for a year and it was bad but not as bad as I thought it would be. However, the chicken processing plant north of Farmerville? I seriously could not live in a free house on 200 acres of free land there.

Bourbon St in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras has a very uniquely terrible smell, you can't seem to ever forget it. I'm smelling it right now just typing this

Pine Bluff, Arkansas has a weird smell from the paper mill there. It's impossible to even explain how bad/odd it is, and it stinks up the whole city

There's a place called American Compost in North Little Rock, Arkansas that makes fertilizer out of old human and cow shite, grease from the city sewer lines, old and rotting food from food plants nearby, and wood shavings. It stinks up several square miles around it, and if you even step foot there for 2 minutes the smell sticks to you for the rest of the day.

That's easily the worst smelling place I've ever been, with the first two being close

Mansfield paper mill used to be smellable for miles around, but it’s not nearly as noticeable these days. I drive near there often, and usually detect no smell.

Worked in a paper mill some when younger. Back then, that shite permeated every bit of clothing. I once forgot and left my work gloves in my car overnight. Took forever to get that smell out of the car. Clothes had to go in the washing machine right away or house would stink.

Bogalusa hands down.

And it's not close. The place is literally built around a paper mill. It can't get any worse than that.
