Well you should be able to count to 2 from the time the person in front of you passes a fixed object to the time you pass same object.
There was a LA State Police Commercial back in the day I remember saying this.

I tried all the "moves" when I was younger. Headlight flick for the most part worked best.
Now, I turn on adaptive cruise and put lane assist on high. Crank up audio system with something enjoyable and post on tigerdroppings while going 70 behind a car passing an 18 wheeler that is going 60.98.
Unless the right lane is open...then just pass to the right. Life is just too short to stress about it.

Well I am not sure if you realize how low that particular vehicle sits on the ground but on an incline if I am behind a truck or SUV, field of view is a little more limited.
I drive looking 50-100 yards ahead of me and determining proper moves to make to keep in front of me clear.

define slow, because apparently in LA the limit is about 20 mph too slow for ppl i see on the road every morning
