Swear it was Berenstein.
I saw that there was a movie made and the movie had an "a" instead of the "e". Maybe that was were all the confusion started from? Maybe someone who has delved deeper in this can shed even more light on it.

Part of the mystique of the "Mandela Effect" comes from not everyone remembering the other way things allegedly were. It is a theory that reality has changed but some people still remember the old way. Like our software didnt fully update with the system update.
As though we live in a simulation that regularly updates with minor changes.
Normally I think these sorts of ideas are bogus, but I also distinctly remember "Berenstein" and Sinbad's genie movie. Pretty sure on Chic-Fil-A too.
My Mandela software must have updated properly bc I have ni memory of him dying in prison.

I don't remember Mandela dying in prison, but I sure as shite remember Ed McMahan being the spokesman for Publisher's Clearing House, Chic-fil-a, Berenstein Bears, Shazam, etc.

Hold the phone. Is the video saying he wasn’t?

Look it up. Publisher's Clearinghouse denies ever having had a spokesman. I have never met a single person who has ever heard of Publisher's Clearinghouse that didn't KNOW with 100% certainty that Ed McMahan was the spokesman. That's literally the only reason I knew of him as a celebrity.

He definitely did commercials for them. I think he even showed up at peoples front door with balloons and a giant check.

In this reality, he didn't. He was never affiliated with them, and they never had a spokesman. We all KNOW this is bullshite, but whomever is changing history, whether it's by changing internet articles or by some kind of strange distortion of the space time continuum, clearly f&%ked that one up. There is zero doubt in my mind, ZERO, that Ed McMahon was the spokesman of Publisher's Clearinghouse. His picture was on the junkmail envelopes, he showed up at people's doors with the big checks, and I remember countless Halloween costumes and celebrity impersonations of McMahan, and every one of them featured him holding a giant Publisher's Clearinghouse check!!!

Did he work for some other prize based business or something? He definitely handed out checks.

This is messing me up right now.

Are they saying he was never affiliated in any way or that he wasn’t a spokesman? He was definitely affiliated.

No, you don't. He was the spokesman for American Family Publishers which also had a giveaway with an envelope with his picture on it. Easy mistake, though.
Here's an example..

My last name sounds close to ending with Stein (long E)

In grade school everyone called me the [last name] bear.

It was never STAIN
