The 18 year old has died.

I saw a lot of posts on FB last week that it was not looking good but I didnt want to post any potential rumor.

Well, sounds like the gunman drained a three-point shot.

a young man is dead over a fricking pick up basketball game... that is just so fricking sad, man... no value of human life at all...

... over a fricking meaningless, probably shitty, pick up basketball game...

I'm 53, but damn, playing ball with 18 y/o's is impressive. Even for a POS killer.

growing up i spent a lot of time at church basketball courts.

being a church, you kind of have to let anyone in and occasionally some shitty people would come and it sucked. however, it being the rural midwest, these shitty people didn't shoot anyone.

There was always some gray area between witnessing to the lost and keeping some order in the lords house.

Man grabbed gun from his bag and shot other guy in head as he walked by.

I am sure many other people are the same, but no matter how angry I would get in the heat of competition or anything else, I can still think rational enough that my instinct would not be to go get a gun and shoot someone.

Its almost like its programed in my head and again, I am sure this applies to a lot of people, but in that situation I know that in the most extreme case it would result in a fight. How does "let me go get my gun and shot this dude" become an option? Even if the idea enters you head for a split second how do you not think "if I do this it will alter my path in life and not in a good way. Its going to impact both of our families".

They seriously need to teach emotional intelligence an consequences in school bc there seems to be a lot of people whose mindset will allow them to do something extreme over something trival.
