There is no argument. The guy lost the court case.
If you think shooting someone's stuff because it's on your property is ok, something is wrong with you.

The reverse of that is if you think it's OK to trespass on someone's property then something is wrong with you.
The case in the OP is messed up because the drone wasn't on the guys property, but I think it would be appropriate to take one out if it was trespassing on your property and was an invasion of your privacy. After your have at least warned the person that is.
It's really simple to keep your drone from being destroyed and that's called personal responsibility. Again, not talking about the case in the OP.

You didn't read the article - apparently it *was* on the pilot's own property. Also:

I read the article and I don't/didn't condone the shooters actions. He was wrong. But it's also wrong to invade a persons privacy. The "get over it" attitude doesn't fly with me (pardon the pun) especially when you're on/over my property.

After he shot down the drone, it would have been awesome if more drones would have flown over and opened fire on him.
