Wish I could send this to my coworker who claimed she shot an AR15 and "couldn't control it."

And the original premise is non-sensical, if one has a strong enough hand, it renders this point moot.

Ooooooo didn't think about that.

IMO, the .308 is perfectly proportioned and everything should be scaled from that. It just looks right.

It is nothing short of absurd that these ignorant Democrats want to ban the AR15.

The best thing AR-15 enthusiast could do is to give it a better name than AR-15. I'm well aware that the "AR" doesn't stand for assault rifle, but the average American has no clue.

Another tip would be to stop building them to look so intimidating. You're not doing anything wrong, but you're not doing yourself any favors either.

Lastly, you can't rebuff gun control activists by saying the AR-15 isn't any more dangerous than a hand gun, a hunting rifle, or a shotgun when the AR-15 is, for some reason, the gun of choice for most recent mass shootings. That needs to be addressed. I'm not suggesting it needs to be controlled, but ignoring it is irresponsible as well. Why is the AR-15 being used more than its "more dangerous" counterparts?

A psych eval would be pretty hard to do for everyone, but they could develop neuro psych assessment in questionnaire form. If youre flagged, you have to do a psych eval.

The questionnaire would be better than whats in place

simply put, the media is planting the seed in their head that the AR is the only weapon capable of doing what they want to do.

Mass Shooters usually aren't any more knowledgeable in weapons than the mainstream media

no.

We agree on this, to a certain degree. A 30-06 hunting rifle or a shotgun loaded with 00buck will cause more damage per hit, but are tactically inferior with regards to recoil, time-on-target, and follow up shots. Defining "dangerous" is important in this context.

Addressed how? What would you like gun owners to do in order to "address" the choices these assholes make?

Is is really the media's fault though? Can't we place some blame on AR-15 manufacturers and their marketing?

Also, can you really blame someone for going with an AR-15 when they can look like this:

This goes back to my point earlier about building them so ridiculous.

AR15. It is literally no more or less dangerous than a handgun.

Really? I don't know a ton about weapons but I would think a rifle with a larger magazine would be more dangerous than a hand gun.

Are they advocating for the commission of murder in their advertisements?

All of these "scary" features have a functional purpose, mostly ergonomic. In other words they make the weapon more comfortable to shoot, it has nothing to do with making the gun "look intimidating"
