No. He claimed that this grandson could be grandfathered into a homestead exemption where the house is still in the grandmother's name.
While any descendant who inherits or buys a house can qualify for the homestead exemption, they must actually own the home and occupy it.
After he was called out, he chose to double down on his stupidity by citing a provision that only applies to a surviving or former spouse of a decedent who actually occupies the home to support his conclusion that a grandson qualifies to be grandfathered into a homestead exemption.

This isn't necessarily true. You don't HAVE to be on the title to take out a policy. He runs into trouble if he just keeps renewing as if the title owner never died though.
