Man made pond boundary legal question

If someone owns a piece of property next to a man made pond, and the pond erodes away part of your land, crosses the property line and grows onto your property, what kind of legal rights do you have in Louisiana? Is there anything you can do?

Just start throwing dirt in there

I'm not an attorney nor do I live in Louisiana, but:
Sue for damages.
As in filling up the pond? No.

You get pond fishing rights to a pond you did not pay to build.
Win/win.
Win/win.

Napoleonic Code say's you can choot 'em. Gott be careful, you can only choot the guy that dug the pond.

Well, the solution is obviously to put up a retaining wall and fill dirt...not sure whether that would be the responsibility of the property owner or the pond owner, though.

Add a dock, boat house and party deck. Enjoy.

stock it with electric eels and piranha...maybe a bull shark also

Dig a small section of pond that connects to the part of main pond that's encroaching on your property. Bait your new small pond, then throw a cast net and catch all the fish. Repeat until you've caught all the fish. Then fry up some fish on your patio while watching your neighbor build a retaining wall to keep his pond from going onto your property so he doesn't lose all his fish to you

I would like to have a pond next to me.
Seems peaceful.

Ask NASCAR Fan for all your pond needs.

He gets dogged a lot but the pond is much bigger now than the first pics show. It must be at least 25'x25' now

Technically, on a non-navigable body of water the property line goes to the center of the body of water. If the property owner claims the pond is all on his property then it sounds like it is encroaching on your property and causing damage. Notify him and if he doesn't take action, have your lawyer notify him again.

Get him to pay for a bulkhead if the pond wasn't originally on your land
