BATON ROUGE - An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of shooting the owner of a local towing company in a dispute over property inside a towed vehicle.
According to court records, Kristopher Saevon Alphonse Chapman, 21, is being sought on one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of illegal use of weapons.
The incident began when Chapman and a woman identified in those documents as "J.G." arrived at Regional Towing, in the 8000 block of Airline Highway, Tuesday afternoon.
The duo were attempting to retrieve items from a vehicle that had been towed at the request of Baker Police on Saturday, when Chapman was reportedly driving it without proper insurance.
Police reports identify J.G. as the owner of the vehicle, but also note that it was not registered to either her or to Chapman. For that reason, the victim did not allow either to retrieve items inside the vehicle.

You would think towing companies would only tow the type of cars that you could reasonably expect the driver to have the 300 bucks to bail the car out and you know, not shoot you
Same way cops only run inspection sticker checkpoints in certain parts of town

When I first saw the headline (and before reading the article), I thought the guy that posted here about living across the street from the tow truck driver had finally had enough. Glad to know that's not the case.

In.
It's the guy from the thread, isn't it?
ETA: well that was anticlimactic

Chapman has an arrest history that includes charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm and other weapons counts.
Somehow he's still allowed to own a weapon? Or was this firearm used unregistered?
All at the age of 21 too.

I was expecting to see Riverside Towing.
But they seem to mess more with college kids and not people that would actually shoot them.

How do you know he’s allowed to?

Maybe he wasn't convicted? Not saying they got that right though. What firearm you have to (or should) register other than SBR or full auto type situation? Private sale doesn't get registered.
