And if they'd done the same thing to a bunch of orphans, or puppies, or grandmas...probably so.

So you are comparing someone blowing up pigs in a field to soldiers fighting on a battlefield. Good grief.

in TX, they're almost paying people to kill feral pigs, they certainly encourage the hell out of it, they even allow helicopter hunts, pigs are taking over and doing gazillions of $ in damage

Just because it's invasive doesn't make it any different.

I think the wasp nest comparison was accurate.

You don't see people all bent out of shape when someone torches a wasp nest or knocks it down.

Both pests, both being killed in numbers. Why is one more upsetting than the other?

Cause a pig can be cuddly. Everyone sees a baby hog and thinks pot bellied pigs. These guys are idiots and probably are the type that would drown a sack of kittens when they were kids though.

The stupidest thing is how did they get explosives like that? They are WAY too close to the explosion IMO. All is fun and games until someone loses an eye. Too a piece of rock, plastic, or pig bone fragment travelling at 800 FPS.

None of my hunting experiences involved shooting an animal, sitting around laughing at how clever we were to have outsmarted said animal, and gradually checking on the animal (if they even did that) when our laughter died down.

It's obvious you don't know the difference between hunting for meat and dispatching a harmful pest.

You mean you've never heard of Tannerite? You been living under a rock the last 10-12 years or so?

Tannerite is legal to possess, purchase and use.

Your opinion is wrong. The camera had a great zoom function and it wasn't like they had built a shrapnel bomb.

When that camera pans around it looks a little close to me. And what do you case tannerite in? Is it a block? Or does it need a container? Just an impressive blast and looks close to me?

What's the point of killing something and not utilizing it afterwards? To me, that's the very definition of slob hunter.

They're not hunting them, they're exterminating them. Big difference.

Would you eat rats that had infested your attic? SOME people eat rats, but most don't. Similarly, MOST people don't eat wild hogs. They're too old, too large, and have eaten all sorts of nasty stuff. They're gross. They're not really hunted for food. They're an invasive species that is exterminated en mass. In Texas, it is legal and ENCOURAGED to shoot as many of them as possible with an AR from a helicopter! How is that any more humane than just blowing them up?

Plastic bags. It's an impressive explosion, but with no shrapnel it's not a danger at range.

Blew the shite out them piggies though. Probably a multiple pound charge.

This seems like 20% eradication and 80% rednecks getting off. I like to hunt and am all for taking care of nuisance animals but this is a bit much. Someone else mentioned that this is ammo for the gun grabbers and I think that's a good point. It's much akin to how many people here think that open carry hurts the 2A cause.
