horseshite.

A few guns does not make an arsenal. They’re just a few random guns. The word arsenal conjures up thoughts of a military cashe of weaponry and used by drama queens to blow things up into more than it is. Now true, glad they nabbed this crazy bastard before he could do any harm, but let’s just keep honest and not try to headline it to death and give readers a false sense of just what he had at his disposal, and it wasn’t a military arsenal of weapons, and he a crazed militia gunman. Sounds like one lone nut job, not a conspiracy or something epidemic, which is what this is trying to feed into.

... "blow things up into more than it is" - if you're glad he got nabbed, then that means YOU think he was going to shoot at a bunch of people with his guns ... what does it matter how the number of guns is described? ... 'arsenal' isn't used to conjure up conspiracy or "something epidemic" ... it may not be the most precise word to use, but its use is hardly some liberal agenda (which is what you mean)

Fake news!

Which is exactly what Vegas was.

The police got very lucky on this since the only thing people have to bitch about is the use of the term "small arsenal" in the headline.

So is it illegal to have guns in a hotel? Or did he just get arrested for the disorderly conduct.

Yeah if he was planning something bad, this is huge.

If the post about a shooting competition is true, then maybe if you have 3 guns and ammo in your room, don't get so trashed to the point the hotel calls the cops

No, it’s just one of many words people use to add sensationalism to stories and to deny that when people read the word arsenal they think a cashe of military styled weaponry, of which a rifle a shotgun and a hand gun does not really fall into that line of thinking, it is just being dishonest, but since most people will not bother to look any further into stories like this, that’s where it ends with them, and the message received. “He had an arsenal of guns”

Guns bad, scary people, OMG.. it’s epidemic. Government must pass more laws.

Fox News is not much different from any other news outlet. They regularly Church shite up to an absurd level without much thought to painting an honest and even handed picture. They, like all the rest, are focused on their bottom line, and sensationalism sells.

Yeah, there a hundred lawful explanations about having those weapons in your hotel room, but it makes us all feel safer when they sensationalize this type of thing.

I would be willing to bet that at this very minute there are at least 50 legal handguns in that hotel owned by law abiding citizens with zero intent to perform a mass shooting spree. It is Houston, not NYC.

Exactly, the very first response in this thread is out of pure ignorance and automatically jumps to conclusions, which is exactly what the article was trying to induce. Now when it’s later discovered that this guy was in town and had planned to go to the gun range with some buddies or, as was rumored a page ago, was in town for a 3-gun competition, nobody will remember.

So I'm supposed to think this is the likeliest explanation after reading an article about a man arrested with 3 guns and a bunch of ammo?

Which do you think occurs more often, a guy having 3 guns in his hotel room because he’s in town for a shooting competition or a guy having guns in his high rise hotel room because he’s planning on shooting out of it? What did you think the likeliest explanation was?

Or, and I know this is going to sound foreign to you, maybe you should avoid jumping to any conclusions and wait until they find out why he had the guns.

3 gun competitor was the first thing I thought of.

If someone was planning a Vegas like attack, the shotgun seems like a useless weapon to bring to a high rise attack site.
