When it is your time it is your time I guess.

This has always been in the back of my mind for some reason. I would think if this drops while I’m getting off then I am screwed.

Dang. Dude in backpack was looking right down at it.

I bet the sounds were terrible. All of those people probably need counseling

Nearly a whole $1300? That sure is incentive to fix the elevator

Had to come back and watch that 4 more times.

It started going down as the first guy came out. Second guy was dumb and tried to make it.

You should see the one from China, it's like this but backwards

Man is trying to get ON the elevator and the elevator starts going UP

The video is from inside the elevator and he's just folded in half pondering his life as he slowly dies

I seriously think it’s time that we, as a country, start a conversation about common sense elevator control... this is crazy

The first building I lived in in Chicago had an elevator like that. It was an old maybe 20 story building that wasn't in the best of shape. t would jolt and bounce and go most of the way to a floor and then quickly go a few more feet. Not a great feeling. You essentially just jump across the opening to save yourself.

I believe the elevator malfunctioned

Honestly though, we never got any kind of official explanation. As you can imagine, there was a big lawsuit, so everything was very hush-hush as far as the details of the tragedy.

I heard that the poor guy was getting on the elevator when the doors slammed shut, pinning his chest in between with his head and neck inside and his legs outside. Apparently the safety mechanism failed, and his head was literally torn from his body when the elevator ascended to the next floor
