SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Police arrested a man they said beat another man to death in front of a crowd of people at an Amtrak Station. 21-year-old Michael Joseph Fobbs is charged with murder for the beating that happened Thursday. Investigators told KENS 5 the victim was sitting on a bench by himself waiting to board the bus when Fobbs approached the man and started beating him. Police said Fobbs then paused for a few moments, said, “I feel like killing someone,” and then continued to beat the man with his fists until he was dead. Police said Amtrak security did rush to the scene but it was already too late. The victim is a 56-year-old man from Texas. The Medical Examiner's office has not released the victim's name, because they have not been able to notify his family yet. Michael Joeseph Fobbs is in Jail under a $150,000 bond.
He was a good boy

It's time like this the US needs to allow stoning to death.

Everyone who was physically capable to stop it, but watched and didnt help. Should be charged with manslaughter, because he did not have a weapon.

I think states should make a law making it a criminal offense to not intervene in cases not involving firearms to protect the life of someone being assaulted. We do it for cops. Are civilians worth any less?

Agree with the comments about the bond amount. $150K is ridiculously low. He should have no chance at getting out for any length of time. Bond should be $1M minimum.

This guy is huge. So if a 5-2 95 pound woman doesn't physically intervene, then she should go to jail?
It sucks, but why are people morally obligated to put themselves in harm's way?

This was in front of a crowd, and because it's the morally right thing to do.

This is hindsight. How does a bystander know that there's no weapon? Maybe it's concealed.
People have gotten killed this way. They try to intervene, but they end up getting shot or stabbed.

I understand the sentiment. However, to arrest someone for not putting themselves in danger, I cannot stand behind that.

Let's say the perp was Rickey Jean Francois. Are you a pussy for not intervening?

There's always going to be a really good reason not to get involved. It's the living with it that I don't understand. This happens all the time. Not beatings to death, but beating the shite out of someone while people watch it go on. YouTube is loaded with videos to support this.

If you have some physical advantage over the guy, then maybe.
I still maintain that there's no way of knowing for certain if the guy has a weapon.

If 5 or six men jumped on Rickey jean francois and started hitting him with items from the suitcases I promise you they could have wore his arse out.and saved a man from dying.

Frick any bystanders who watched this happen. Probably with cell phones in hand.
