So, the cop used an unauthorized key card to access the building and then proceeded to violate the man's first and fourth amendment rights. All because the tyrant's feelings got hurt. The public intoxication charge was of course thrown out. It seems lately cops are working overtime at getting getting their qualified immunity revoked. The winnings from the lawsuit should bankrupt both the cop and the police pension fund. The taxpayers shouldn't be footing the bill for such blatant misconduct.

My BIL got arrested in Dallas for a PI. He was sitting on a bench inside his gated apartment complex about 20 foot from his apratment and he didn’t even have a beer. They walked him to his apartment to get his shoes and took him to jail??.

He was drunk but minding his own business and somebody called the cops on him.

This is what happens when you create the government nanny state and then tell people who do a job that requires sleeping in your car for half the day that they are "heros." They start believing it.

I'm willing to bet he was drunk and minding a bit more than his own business, just spitballing here.

Cops that violate the Constitution should be jailed for no less than 10 years. It's pathetic how we have gotten to the point where violating the 4th is basically considered standard operating procedure.

I know a retired HP officer, he has alway said he'd rather work with a lazy partner than an eager partner.

Would have been a shame if the cops head had been turned into a canoe.

A real shame. Glad that didnt happen.
