The dead body pics really arent that bad You can barely make out anything All I can really see is an arm, and someone who looks like their foot got bit off No faces or anything

Honestly they aren't. I'm more shocked some a-hole took pictures of it and threw it up on social media like it was nothing.

This is an apparent FB post from a passenger on the plane.

Supposedly translates to "In case it disappears, this is what it looks like."

Hole. E. shite.

When joking about the last Malaysian air disaster goes wrong.

The height doesn't matter......you will hit at the same speed as someone jumping a building.
As long as you have enough height for terminal velocity, which is dependent on wind, air density, position of body, etc.

You can't even see anything. As far as graphic is concerned those pics aren't it. Disturbing? Yes. Graphic? Not really.

If you're an airline captain, would you fly your jet full of people directly over a fricking country in the middle of a war where several aircraft have been shot down recently? WTF?

If I were a gambling man I would wager that the Ruskies shot down that plane. This wouldn't be the first time they have shot down an Asian airliner. Remember the Korean airliner they shot down in the 80s?

That is what I am getting at.

Its not like a fall from 33k means you will hit harder than a fall from 500 feet or so

Not sure if serious...

Acceleration is constant but speed is a function of acceleration and time. More time accelerating, faster you are going

Probably something along the lines of an airliner impacting the ground, nose down at 300 kts.

Looks like the MH17 aircraft broke up into pieces and those large chunks, with passengers still strapped in, pancaked into the ground. So the bodies are intact, not the meatgrinder like the PSA aircraft in San Diego

Um.....okay.

One of the biggest problems of HS physics is that they ignore the effects of friction in the calculations....

Remember when the U.S. shot down a civilian airliner too?

Not with gravity. There's a terminal velocity, and it arrives quickly
