Outside of environmentalist wackos, is there any practical reason why California can’t set up an emergency pump to transfer seawater to fire engines or fires ? Clearly they would need to be flushed at some point, but if we’re talking about billions of dollars and thousands of people , why not use sea water to put out the fires ?

From watching the experts saying how predictable the path of the fire was taking youd think theyd have pumps like youre saying and have pipes with massive sprinkler heads to cut the fire off at certain points.

ETA: At least have a line of sprinklers before the neighborhoods.
