The new areas burning in the Palisades Fire don’t look too good. They need a big effort to get that under control since winds will pick up again in 18 hours.

Cut from fire department but did have money for stuff including but not limited to the following:
quote:

, the budget allocated $14,010 to the "Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles" this year, a group that seeks to "create musical experiences that strengthen our role as a leader among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and performing arts organizations."

The Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department was also granted $100,000 for a "Midnight Stroll Transgender Cafe" to fund housing for homeless transgender individuals in Hollywood.

Another $190,000 was allocated to the Homeless and HIV Program, which includes a "syringe exchange" program that gives sterile syringes to homeless drug addicts.

An additional $100,000 of county funds was put aside to pay for Juneteenth celebrations, while $13,000 was allocated to "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Heritage Month Programs."

I wonder how much went to illegals and finding votes for a month after election to push a few dems over republicans for house seats.
quote:

"We pay the highest taxes in California. Our fire hydrants were empty. Our vegetation was overgrown, brush not cleared. Our reservoirs were emptied by our governor because tribal leaders wanted to save fish. Our fire department budget was cut by our mayor. But thank god drug addicts are getting their drug kits," Sara Foster wrote in a post on X. "@MayorOfLA @GavinNewsom RESIGN. Your far left policies have ruined our state. And also our party."

The push the fire is making to the east tonight may be the most dangerous since the night it started. The next few hours have a chance to make this even worse than it already has been.

It is worth noting that through the life of this fire, with these winds, no natural or man made fire breaks have slowed it down. It has crossed creeks, ridges, fire roads, recent burned areas, local roads, and interstate highways.

The last thing anyone needs is for anything to take off in this area.

The Palisades Fire is cranking off this evening and new evacuation orders have been given for North of Sunset Blvd to Encino Reservoir and West of the 405 Freeway to Mandeville Canyon.

In an interesting piece of reporting, it was revealed tonight that a senior LAFD official told Daily Mail reporters that on the day the fire started, a resident showed them a video of two people dumping gasoline in the area the fire started and lit it off.

The LAFD official told the resident to turn the video into police because they needed to focus on emergency response and evacuations.

As of Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department told reporters they “have not received any reports of arson’ related to the Palisades Fire.”

“We had a resident come to us and said he got a video of two men dumping gas and lighting it off,’ said the LAFD official, who asked to remain anonymous.”

I will cover this new and more developments on tomorrow’s episode.

Also, I received information tonight that British Columbia is sending an Incident Management Team to California with a total of 100+ firefighters. Alberta and Quebec are also sending resources. Neptune Aviation and Bridger Aerospace are also sending aviation resources.

Meanwhile… Hotshot crews are working to the contain the Eaton Fire, one Hotshot crewmemeber told me today that it’s kicking their arse, but progress is being made.

Fortunately, they've caught a break with the wind right now. Nothing too bad, 5-10mph for the time being.

There is a lot of mutual aid between us and Canada with wildfires. The problem has been that most crews have gone off duty this time of year. Mustering help takes time.
