Florida has more forest area and hardly has any wildfires.
There were 2388 florida wildfires in 2024, according to our department of agriculture. 6.5 a day is an awful lot for hardly any. I called 911 Sunday for a fire i drove by, just off i95 in brevard county.

Quick google search says Pismo Beach is 175 miles/3 hours North of Pacific Pallisades.

Gee, if only the North Carolina flooding had gotten a tenth of this attention....

Any ideaa on how the fire started? Naturally or some retard with fireworks or similar?

Didn’t realize there was a fire in Pasadena. We’re right up from there, about 5 minutes from the Rose Bowl. Guess I’ll be looking out the window all night for the glow.

and there is no rain in the forecast.
When the rains do come (and IIRC, rainy season in SoCal is Jan - Feb) there is going to be problems with mudslides because the majority of the vegetation will be torched!

What pisses me the hell off about videos like that is that this idiot kills himself and an innocent dog. That dog had no choice being locked up in that house.

Do people in Southern California pay a wildfire premium on their homeowners? Or have a wildfire deductible?

Normally, it’s either from downed power lines due to strong winds or arson. You’ll be surprised how many deranged people there are in this world, including a few firefighters who have actually started some of these fires out West in years past…

Concerning the video of the man with the dog, he may not have known there was a fire at the time. It’s incredible how quickly these things spread with little to no advance warning

This fire is going to be really deadly if people get stuck in traffic. This situation is fricked.

Correct. It’ll get really ugly.

They will likely shut down highways/roads to prevent that
