Major swelling at site of tetanus shot?

My sister received a tetanus shot on Tuesday. The injection site is now very swollen, about the size of an average person's kneecap. Years ago, she had a tetanus shot and it left a hole type scar at the injection site.

She also is feeling ill.

Does she need to go back in? Thanks.

This should have been remembered when they asked her, and they always ask, "are you allergic to anything?"

There needs to be an act score requirement for people to post on this site

Adults should be able to figure these things out themselves.

I know she needs to go in. She hates going to the doctor and I'm trying to get some ammo to encourage her to go.

I was in the 98th percentile on the ACT (for the record).

Then what would we do without 87% of the posters here?

Tell her if she doesn't go in its going to get a worse for her. All these things are fixable. Sooner she goes and sees someone, the quicker they can fix the issue.

Walk me though this decision tree. You have a medical quandry that could potentially be severe. Your options are call the doctor's office, make a post on Facebook, or make a post on an internet discussion board full of anonymous people, few, if any, being MDs. How did you come to the decision to go with the last option?
