I wouldn't drive, personally...so far, none of the outgoing flights to BR have been cancelled, so maybe you'll get lucky and be able to leave on time. jmo

LOCATION: CANEY LAKE

This is the family pier and what it usually looks like:

This was early yesterday morning when mom had to walk out there and tie the boat off because the water was pushing it above the lift:

This was late yesterday:

This was this morning:

The boat is touching the roof of the pier and water is to the doorknob to the storage closet on the pier. Their house is raised a good bit so they should be okay there.

My thoughts and feels are with friends and family in North La. The pics on my FB feed are unreal.

Yeah. That's not happening. My Dad is overseas and Mom is at the house by herself.

ETA: And she said she needs a boat to get to it.

They have a lot of water. We have friends in Carriage Oaks who evacuated yesterday. Here is a link to video from there that was on the Wed. evening news.

Damn i think i would have to swim out to it or use a stick to stay on the dock and wade out to the pontoon boat. Not untying it and bringing it around is going to end up being a $30k mistake after that pontoon boat gets trapped under that roof gets crushed then floats the roof loos from the posts.

She says the people across the lake are worse off than her. It's not touching the tip top of the roof just yet, hopefully it won't make it there.

Thanks, Paige. Thinking about your fam as well.

Well, now ya'll have me freaking out. IDK who she could call or try to get to come help her out there though.

The boat is insured, I wonder if it's covered for lake flood/roof smoosh.
