For what it's worth; I've heard the same thing from a couple people who work in night life and my little sister is a regular and she said they were closing also so I'm assuming that came from the horse's mouth. But same as OP no "actual" info

Serrano's still had the best chips and salsa I've had from a restaurant. Wish they'd bottle that shite.

It's 100% closing. Went last night and the bartender told me. Having a fire sale on liquor and bottle imports before they close. They've already shut down the POS system and are only doing cash business til the end.

With the parking situation what it is, nothing will survive there.

How do you even begin to fix the parking problem?

Maybe a parking garage in the BWW lot. But imagine how bad parking would be during construction

You sure? They seemed to have gotten kind of popular. Last few times I went there were plenty of people. They were always a solid alterative (and the only) good alternative to the Chimes. Strange that a place would be looking to close see before school was over.

There are always parking spots at the LSU Lot across the street.

If by that you mean a place to have a beer while waiting on your table at Chimes, then sure

I believe the inability of Mahony's to survive has more to do with really poor management and unprofessional employees. The girls working behind the bar were generally not very good at their jobs.

I've been a lot and tried to bring friends before but the poor service when they actually see a rush in business was ridiculous.

He told me right after he got let go. I'm not a 100% sure why Gary is closing it but my guess is the rent was too high for how much the bar actually made.

Most LSU students live to the South of campus now.
Once you get past State Street it goes downhill quick.

People don't realize how high the leases are in some places. I'm guessing the Library and Bayou's lease was minimal.
