Thank goodness this wasn't an earthquake next to Ferguson.
With the power out, imagine the looting.

Just don't live in the Bay area. I'm in San Diego and didn't even know an earthquake had taken place until a text from my sister woke me up.

I knew that when I booked my trip to SF this would happen around it.

I just so happened to be in VA when that quake hit. So weird. A 6.0 would probably make me shite my self.

I go to San Diego twice a month. Would not dream of leaving the Bay Area for it. To each his own.

Wow, my brother lives in napa! Looks like lots of structural damage.

This would explain the 6 am call I got this morning.. Must have been his girlfriend.

Plenty of faults in the San Diego area even if it's lower risk than other California cities.

Son in Oakland area and said it was like a gentle rolling to quietly arouse from sleep! First night in California and that's his welcome.

Gentle rolling pretty much described it, not violent shake, but more like being on the water

Hey folks this one was no joke. Lived through many quakes, this one was definitely the strongest since Loma Prieta in '89. We live less than 20 miles from the epicenter. It rolled very strong for a good 15-20 seconds. Actually had some difficulty making it down the hallway in a straight line. Was still rolling when we got outside, sky looked like there was a lightning show going on from all the transformers blowing almost 20 miles away.

Neighbors and I just finished our structural checks on our houses. We were blessed and escaped without any damage. A lot of damage in Napa and Sonoma Counties, people's lives changed. They could use our prayers. As bad as it is, could have been far worst. Just update to a 6.1
