I watched that restaurant come up and I was in total disbelief.

It reminded me of the Ian Malcolm quote in Jurassic Park...They were so preoccupied with whether they COULD build it that big, they didn't stop to think if they SHOULD build it that big.

Regardless, the way the new Friends was run from the get-go, it could have been a one room shack and the service still would have sucked.

Think they already bought the land on 22.

Putting the location of said land would be helpful.

It's in the works. Probably at least a few years until it's approved for construction.

I thought you were going to say "That's one big pile of shite."

Would have also been applicable. Basically Dennis Nedry was in charge of Friends.

Yes I've been there a few times. I got raw oysters and brews there the last time I ducked in. The oysters were some of the best I've had recently.

I know someone that might know a lil something about this. All I can say is there's something in the works.

I hope someone buys it and does it right. It is a big building, but it's a nice and new big building, too much so just to sit empty.

in Madisonville and a ton of new houses being built daily,

Who is going to buy all those houses being built in Bedico Creek subdivision? There are houses in my neighborhood that haven't sold in 6 or more months. They don't plan for a thing around here.

Unless someone does it right to gain a loyal following, I fear that place is destined to be doomed for anyone who buys it. It's too big to be supported by locals only and with a parking issue and neighbors that abhor it, it will always be fighting to stay alive.

Those house are selling faster than they can put them up. I wonder if we will see a flood of repos here in a couple years. Those aren't cheap houses.

Their rep baffles me. Admittedly I've only been there once, many years ago, but the food was terrible.

Where are the buyers coming from? I didn't think there was that much influx to this area.
