M-74 The Phantom Galaxy - JWST and my Effort

Explanation: Beautiful spiral galaxy Messier 74 (also known as NGC 628) lies some 32 million light-years away toward the constellation Pisces. An island universe of about 100 billion stars with two prominent spiral arms, M74 has long been admired by astronomers as a perfect example of a grand-design spiral galaxy. M74's central region is brought into a stunning, sharp focus in this recently processed image using publicly available data from the James Webb Space Telescope. The colorized combination of image data sets is from two of Webb's instruments NIRcam and MIRI, operating at near- and mid-infrared wavelengths. It reveals cooler stars and dusty structures in the grand-design spiral galaxy only hinted at in previous space-based views.
Astronomy Picture of the Day
Several months ago, I imaged this galaxy with my 4½" reflector telescope.

The galaxy's low surface brightness makes it the most difficult Messier object for amateur astronomers to observe.[8][9] Its relatively large angular (that is, apparent) size and the galaxy's face-on orientation make it an ideal object for professional astronomers who want to study spiral arm structure and spiral density waves. It is estimated that M74 hosts about 100 billion stars.[6]
FYI: here is the Spitzer Telescope image of the same galaxy:

Interesting to see the difference between your $2,000 telescope and the governments busted $10,000,000,000 telescope.

Someone hit enhance on that image and show us the supermassive black hole at the center.
Also interesting that there's what appear to be massive voids throughout. Looks like bubbles.

How is it busted?

and to think we’re alone in the universe is laughable
the question is how MANY of us there are out there.

Interestingly, I just watched a video on YouTube about the Boötes void aka "The Great Nothing". It's something like 300 light-years in diameter. It was said that if the Milky Way were in the center of the void, it is possible we wouldn't have known about any other galaxies until 50 years ago or so, if at all.

It got hit by a micro-meteorite a month or two back that they admitted materially reduced its performance. (Important to note that it is still operating above spec though)

What telescope do you have?

What telescope do you have?
I have a 4½" reflector with a builtin sensor for imagining onto my iPhone13.

Even space has whirlpools

How many creatures do you think are fricking at the exact time that picture was taken?

You want a whirlpool, I give you Whirlpool Galaxy (Messier 51), image I made several years ago with different equipment:
