Your friend has a mental disorder not a meat allergy.
Most likely it is a government engineered tick disease to help with the plant based meat crap they are pushing but it isn't just a mental disorder

Anyone here had Lyme disease before?
I haven't, but I know people who have. Prophylactic broad spectrum antibiotics is the go to first response.

My parents neighbor when they lived in HSV, AR ended up moving to a city with specialist in tick disease because their son was diagnosed with Lyme in a chronic and systemic way.
Over the course of a decade he continued to slowly decline from a healthy vibrant active 20-something to where in his mid 30’s he had lost the ability to walk and needed assistance to clothe himself.
They attributed the virility of the disease to a delay in 1st getting treatment. So if you are suspicious don’t hesitate, get it checked out and it really should not hurt an otherwise healthy person to be on antibiotics for a couple weeks.

Isn’t it permanent? I’ve never understood this disease
Lyme disease is real. “Chronic” Lyme disease is hotly debated between doctors. Half the experts thing chronic Lyme disease is bullshite and half think it’s legitimate.
In any case 99% of Lyme disease cases are curable and go away with antibiotics.

Had it about 4 years ago. (Never found a tick nor did I have a rash). One day it started with extreme fatigue, progressed to on and off fevers, horrible night sweats. Had been to my primary a couple times and he ran a million tests and came up with nothing. Went to the ER at about week 4 if I remember correctly. ER doc was stumped. Called in an Internal medicine doc. After about a 5 minute convo with him he gave me a doxy script and said Id be better in 48 hours. Sure enough, felt like a new man 2 days later.
He went ahead and did the lyme test anyway. I had the igm (short term antibodies) but hadnt had it long enough for igg (long term antibodies.) They also did something called a blot?? test. It confirmed the diagnosis.
Good luck baw.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and explain it to you. It's called Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS). Alpha-gal is a sugar that is found in meat from mammals and their byproducts that we manufacture like gelatin, milk etc. It is estimated that 450,000 people suffer from this.
This response from a tick bite comes from the lone star tick.
So in a nutshell they aren't allergic to meat, but more so the Alpha-gal that is found in meat. When people have the allergy and eat meat they can break out in hives, rash, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Most serious is that they can have an anaphylactic response.

Did you ever test positive? It's possible you had Babesia, because of the fever, sweats, the fatigue, and the rapid onset. Doxycline has some antimalarial properties, so it would have helped.
Pretty sure I had it one time about 5 or 6 years ago. Felt flu-like symptoms all of a sudden one summer day, and eventually found a tick on the back of my leg. Went to the doc in a box, they took it off and gave me some antibiotic and I almost immediately started feeling better.

Thanks for all the input. Just got blood taken and started the doxy. We’ll see what the results come back as tomorrow.

Yes have dealt with it since 2015. Things I wish I knew that would have saved me years that I took antibiotics that antibiotics don’t work, you can’t kill Lyme disease, your immune system should be able to handle the Lyme bacteria something is hampering your immune system so it can’t, find out what that is and support your body from there. Steps I would take first is test home for mold using an ermi, I had black mold in my hvac my home never flooded, if you have any type of dental infections, cavitations from wisdom teeth removal or root canal get them removed, if you have any type of implant being breast or anything like that remove it from your body. Parasite cleanse. Change your personal care products to non toxic make sure nothing is fragranced in your home like plug ins and laundry detergent. Something is getting in the way of your immune system working find what that is… that’s why you hear some people get bit by ticks and never have a problem because their toxin “bucket” is not full. I know more than I should dealing with this for so long that’s just basic advice of where I would start. Creating balanced health also has a test you send in hair and saliva and you will get back more information on what is going on in your body than any blood test can tell you. I have been symptom free for years after losing the ability to do basic daily things for myself. My brother sent me this forum link so I could help. I hope this information will help someone because I never thought I would get well.

Lived in New Hampshire for several years. Lots of Lyme cases there. Found attached ticks periodically. About 6 months after moving down south, I started having many Lyme symptoms, worst of which was sharp pain in one of my knees at nights. Would wake me up from a deep sleep in shocking pain. After a few months of this, I discussed it with a family member doctor and asked about testing for Lyme. He advised to forego testing and just treat it as if it is Lyme, which was a strong antibiotic for 10ish days. Absolutely cleared up all of the symptoms.
My suggestion is to tell your DR you visited a Lyme heavy location, your symptoms associated with Lyme and ask him to RX an appropriate antibiotic. If he refuses (unlikely), get another Dr.

One of my sons experienced the Alpha-Gal syndrome after a tick bite. No more red meat since red meat could trigger the onset!
