You’re trying to rationalize the thoughts of a guy who has some wires crossed in his head.

An Altoona, Pa., man who says he is a regular customer at the McDonald’s where Luigi Mangione was arrested says he and his friends saw him walk in and thought that he looked like the suspected shooter in New York City.

The man, who identified himself only as Larry, gave interviews to CNN, Fox News and the BBC, saying that he and his friends were joking to themselves about the resemblance.

“The group of us thought it was more of a joke, and we were kidding about it,” he told Fox News. “But as it turned out, it was him.” When the group left, Larry said he walked past the man.

According to police, a McDonald’s employee later called 911 to report the suspect. When officers arrived, they found Mangione at the back of the restaurant, wearing a blue surgical mask and a brown beanie and looking at a laptop.

The officers said that when they asked Mangione if he had been to New York recently, he became quiet and “started to shake.”

“It’s unbelievable,” Larry told CNN. “I still can’t hardly believe it’s for real, ya know?”

Seriously. I don't understand these people cheering this on.

We are lost as a country in so many ways, but the American people have cheered for stuff like this going back to our inception.

The last place you want to be if you are from a wealthy family and have a bad back is prison.

He thought he hated life before…

Can someone explain why he is charged with 2nd degree murder and not 1st? Makes zero sense to me but I am not a lawyer. 2nd degree is like shooting while robbing a bank or something, 1st is premeditated (much like a frickkng assassination is).

The real "manifesto" released here

The one from one last night is fake

“To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”

I expected something more well written and deeper. That’s more of a simple confession clearly written after the murder than a manifesto. Calling it a manifesto is disingenuous.

I just hope that taxpayers don't have to pay for his likely sex change operation...
