Yes it is one of the required vaccines so that's why it wouldn't make much sense. But at the same time I know that one of the forms of meningitis (either bacterial or viral can't remember) will kill you within 24 hours and there's just about nothing you can do about it.

East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner Dr. Beau Clark said his office was investigating her death Wednesday and investigators didn't find signs of trauma but are awaiting a toxicology report.
Her death follows the fatal shooting of Md Firoz-Ul-Amin, a 29-year-old Ph.D. student who was fatally shot at his job earlier this month at the Lucky's Valero gas on Airline Highway.”

Also hearing sick with chills. Guessing meningitis or got septic.

Kids mom taught my kids and was a popular kid, soccer player, etc, pretty cool kid at Lusher. The Lusher community is very sad right now. Messed up situation. Dude was skateboarding and fell and hit his head. Apparently not wearing a helmet which is odd be cause his mom and siblings rode bikes a lot around Uptown and always wore helmets.

She had been sick for a couple weeks, no trauma, autopsy was performed awaiting toxicology report, but it appears it was due to some sort of illness.

Well you have to prove exactly what infection was the cause. You can also get septic from a tampon believe it or not.

Not that its much consolation for the family, but I'm relieved it appears she was sick and not another suicide or OD.
