I knew a guy Who got busted with keys of yay, and he got probation and drug court. Cost him $30,000, the judge got half that.
This dude here, screwed up, he talked to deputies, had money where he had his stash and sold where he had his stash.
You aren't going to get killed over selling a few pounds. You may not even do time. Rat on a distributor and if you're lucky they only kill you and not your family too.

I got caught with pot when I was 18. Cops asked me where I got it from, I wasn't going to snitch on my friend. Well the night before a random guy in NoLa walked up to me at the ATM and asked if I wanted some "Christmas tree" which I turned him down. Anyways, when the cop asked me where I got the weed that's all I could think

Don't take this for the idea that I'm anti marijuana but if this dude got caught with three pounds because he sold to an undercover, the cops aren't dumb enough to accept the "oh, some random guy approached me trying to offload weight.
And this "undercover agent" could have easily been one of his customers that he had been selling to, who got caught with a personal use amount. They then decided to make an undercover buy to avoid charges. Not saying that's exactly what happened because idk this guy from Adam but it's a good possibility.
When you are at the point of holding multiple pounds, it doesn't matter who you are... Big brother is watching you.

They then decided to make an undercover buy to avoid charges. Not saying that's exactly what happened because idk this guy from Adam but it's a good possibility.

I agree with you in this case.
But if you are 20 and in the LSU area, your main clientele is going to be mommy and daddys "good college kid". How many of "those types" would take a possession charge on the chin? Gotta know your customers and take every precaution. At least stash the cash somewhere else.
He was smart enough to not have guns in the same area of the drugs though so +1 for him

I got busted with 5 pounds of Reggie 15 years ago. First offense. Got probation and drug court. If he keeps his mouth shut he should be ok. They need to stop busting these kids with weed. Go after coke, crack and herion. That's where all your crime is coming from

If you selling drugs to random people, its just a matter of time before you are caught. If you want to increase the odds you are not caught, only sell to people that have more to lose than you do.

What you do.is you put them in fed ex tubes. Gotta pay for shipping something to get a slip to stick on it. Now it's mail and when you drive with it they aren't going to be able to.open unless they arrest you for something else on your journey.

Bull shite. Fed Ex is not mail, but that's irrelevant. Under the automobile exception to the 4th Amendment, cops with probable cause can search a car and containers (suitcase, pill bottles, etc.) in it without a warrant. Sometimes they take a car to a garage and literally take it apart if they think there are hidden compartments.

I just wanted to post that the cops that busted this cat made 30k yesterday due to confiscation laws.
And, in an alternate universe, where our dealer hero is not an idiot, and does not tell the cops that the 30k is from drug dealing, it would still be on him to prove that the 30k which was found on him was not from drug dealing.
Cops would make 30k anyway...
