If these professors are using "AI checkers" then they're stupid too. They're snake oil

Right. AI checkers are probably powered by AI.

My wife (no pics) is a high school teacher (a good one, and no relations with students lol), and she has already started doing some reverting to handwriting assignments/papers in class because of AI.

Ah, so now the professor has to grade TWO essays per student, not one.

So who's time is getting saved?

Well, when you need no test score to get in and your GPA from Shitty High School is 4.0, which you used AI to get, what do you expect? Surprise, surprise, surprise. Idiots,

Those professors need to check their social media ads.

AI is gonna create more millionaires in the next five years than the internet made in twenty.

A million dollars now is like 1000 bucks in the 90s

We live in a 3rd world country with hyperinflation.

Kids are lazy and think they can outsmart instructors using AI.

They are going to pay a major price. The parents are as much to blame because many of them only care about the grade too.

This is happening everywhere and even happens with honest students just checking their work with grammerly.

This is really dumb and just goes to show how universities don’t adapt with the times.

My company and every company I work with has its own version of AI and has AI first initiatives to become more efficient.

This is what the real world is like. Use the tools available to you to get the job done efficiently and well. Why are universities against this?

Students are lazy as hell now by the way. I had a freaking master’s student take my stat course and take 30% of the exam on his own and then used AI for the last 70%.

The kid got the first 30% right. Then bombed the part where AI was used.

Wanna know how lazy they were? They left the response, “My AI does not produce graphs” in their answer.

I tell my students, don’t cheat, but if you I are going to do it, do it well and put in some effort. Make it a challenge for me to figure out.

Applaud these professors that still value original thought but they are fighting a losing battle. It’s only a matter of time when the same students using AI to cheat through higher education become the professors and we are fricked.

how are those topics, skills, and assignments going to help them get a job?

Unfortunately colleges appear to be slow on adjusting practices and degrees to the new AI world. If AI can do it there’s no reason for a company to hire for it.

People still need to have the ability to form and express their own complicated thoughts, even if an AI can do it. Especially if an AI can do it, because otherwise, why are the people needed at all?
