My daughter might be/ likely attending grad school at LSU. Any housing advice? Budget is under 150k. Thanks

My buddy’s daughter had a place at Lake Beau Pre in that range. She liked it. Convenient drive to campus.

Lol she isn’t a Bulldog. She is actually a Presbyterian College Blue Hose. Hope she is a Tiger soon cause I’m not keen on her going to UF.

When I lived in Southdowns, there were a lot of grad students. My landlord, who owned maybe four houses there, only rented to grad students (and me). Idk what the housing prices now are though

Rent around southdowns or near E Boyd
Also, pics?

You could get a house walking distance to campus for probably 30-40k. She could also make some extra money a few saturdays a year letting people park in her yard.

I would love to buy El Cid and turn it into the palatial living space it was meant to be.

Lsu just built new complexes and I'm pretty sure they are also used as grad school housing. Very nice.

Yout budget could get a building named for here, let alone a crash pad for 2 years.

I lived over next to Roosevelt street for a year. A double homicide in the LSU owned apartments where they were bound and shot plus my appartment getting broken into, led me to leave that area and go over close walk-ons.

Just rent a house. Plenty of houses for rent that are near campus. Will be cheaper and she will enjoy it more than an apartment. See if she has friends going with her or know someone here she can split costs with. If I could do it over again, I would have rented a house and split the rent with my friends who went to college with me:

She could easily rent a house in Beau Pre or Lake Beau Pre with that budget. Most of the houses in those two neighborhoods are around 1500 a month to rent. Less than a 5 minute drive to campus.

There's a condo on Congress Blvd for sale, but there's tenants till next July. It's going for $130k. I'm sure if you bought it, their lease becomes void. My parents bought my sister and me a condo in the same complex when we were in college. I ended up living there for ten years.
It's called Georgetown Condominiums. It's located right of the interstate and about 10 minutes from campus. I believe it's mostly grad students and young professionals that live there.

Isn’t UF a top graduate program in the SEC or is that just undergrad?
