Posted on 6/10/19 at 1:57 pm
A former employee of LSU Vet Hospital and now a service dog trainer needs help with her own retired service dog. The owner has volunteered countless hours of pro bono training and service to others, volunteers for animal needs throughout the gulf states area. She is truly a volunteer and giving person and needs our help. Please consider assisting her in her time of need. Money may be given directly to LSU or through paypal

What about the Wayde Simms Foundation? It's for service dogs and they had an event this past weekend.

Given the above, one would think the doctors at the Vet School would do it for free.

She is a former disabled employee at LSU VET - and now trains service dogs. She continues to volunteer and work with referred clients of LSU

Wish this were true but animal surgery is very expensive- the estimate on this surgery is $5K- THe owner has already spent over $1K of her own money to save the dog's life and get her to the point of surgery

She worked there and they won't do the surgery for free? Bastitches.

Service dogs are K9 trained:
Some for Police, military, fire
Some for Medical - Seizure, Seeing Eye, Deaf Assistance etc
Not to be confused with "Emotional support animals" which are not service dogs

Mississippi State vet care is very expensive. Is LSU's also?
I pay lots for pet needs and typically don't hesitate to do so when a pet is in need. But, I found that cost the one time I needed to use MSU to be unnecessarily more expensive than I thought it should be. Especially for a place that is training students to become vets. And it being a public University.
