I have a sun allergy exemption. Thanks to my aunt the ophthalmologist. 5% all around.

I believe the tint exemption law changed a couple of years ago and it is much more restrictive on who can receive the exemption now... I want to say these changed in 2012

How long ago was this, if i may ask?
I got a ticket for my window tint at a check point over near country club and foster in 2010 despite having a security exemption. BRPD issued the ticket. I got a new vehicle in late 2011 and submitted paperwork for an exemption and was denied.
I am now perfectly ok with paying window tint tickets. I've only got one since, and it was in livingston parish. The cop was actually pretty cool about the whole thing and gave me a chance to rip it off but I would rather pay the ticket.

They use to allow cops and anyone else who fit the criteria full tinting of the entire front windshield. It was crazy.

I feel like I remember the one from LPSO being $145. I don't remember what the BRPD ticket cost.

Dude it's a $150 fine that you'll get pulled over MAYBE every other year for. Just pay the fines

Ticket is $150. Do they still slice your tint also, or do you just go on your way and pay the ticket?

Right. As dumb as this sounds, I'm willing to pay $150 every other year to have my tint. I've always had limo until my current truck which has 15%. If you aren't doing anything illegal or acting like an arse, most cops won't even bother you. The only time I actually got tint tickets in the past was when they would pull me over for speeding and notice.

I've always heard this but never actually seen it myself, and I've been pulled over a lot.

Back of my truck off of the lot is 15%. Back of my buddy's truck is 10% from the dealership. New law says 25% is the darkest allowable on the rear
Are you sure about this law? How can the manufactures sell something that is not legal in the state at which you reside?
ETA: Im assuming you are talking about the rear glass and rear seating glass?

Ive gotten two in my lifetime. Both were from LSP and each were over $200. Each time I was pulled over on the Interstate when the trooper passed me and then proceeded to pull me over for a tint ticket only.
Got out of both tickets by removing the tint before my court date and providing receipts for having it removed along with pictures and dates of tint less windows. It also helps that a buddy of mine is a lawyer and knew the cops both times.

Ive never had this done to me but know someone who has. His was 5% while mine was one stage to dark whatever that was back in the day. Im sure its the cops discretion.

I applied, and succeeded, because my pupils sometimes don't contract quickly enough when there is a rapid transistion from dim to bright.

They can write you a ticket but they can't damage your shite. It's private property, it's not their to slice.

Why not just go with the legal tint and not worry about the rest?

oh but they can. And do
I think it is an urban legend. Unless you can show us where they have the legal authority to take a razor to your windows. Illegal or not, it's still private property. They can't just destroy shite because they want to.

I'd hope he'd be cool about it since all the LPSO cars are completely limo'd out.
