LP putting mosquito abatement on the ballot... again.

The public has voted against this twice recently. But they’re just going to keep adding it to the ballot until it finally gets passed on some low turnout election. There should be rules against this.
Looks like this time they’re going to try to sneak the fee onto your water bill - the last time it was a separate bill and almost no one paid for it because it either didn’t work or didn’t come near your home. So, now you can’t avoid paying it even though it won’t work and very likely won’t go anywhere near many people’s homes.

All that does is give Councilman Jimmy Joe's brother in law a job driving the sprayer truck. The mosquitoes will give zero fricks.

I for one refused to pay the original abatement fees b/c those fog trucks were absolutely useless.

The abatement does as much good in LP as the +15% combined state and local taxes in Denham Springs.

A significant portion of the mosquitos that impact your every day life are those Asian Tigers, and those only live around your home. They can fly a few hundred feet from their breeding area max. Nothing wrong with trying to wipe those out.
