You MIGHT have some unknown funds due to you just sitting there that you can claim. Just check the website and see if you have a few dollars that you could buy a few rounds of ammo with or maybe even get that new firearm you've been wanting.

You are welcome by the way! Lol........ Seriously though, check it out. And if you have or had a business check that as well. I had something sitting there since 2004 and just found out about it.

I just got a check in the mail a few days ago because I had an unclaimed utility deposit from many years ago.

I did this in NY and found out I had some stock from like 1982 that my dad bought when I was born... he died when I was 9 so it went unclaimed until like 3 years ago.
Nice little surprise for sure.

Me too!!! I just got the check in yesterday from the State. Me and my wife had some small amounts from utility deposits, about $175!

I did this a few years ago (not in LA) and got $900; I still have no idea why or what it was from.

A small life insurance policy that listed a relative as beneficiary popped up on there once. It was only $500, but with interest it cracked $800.

About 4 years ago, I checked it out on a lark. My sister and I ended up splitting almost $3 grand from some stock our late mother owned.
Also, I found the folks I dealt with at the treasury office to be very helpful.

What if those people are dead?

I would think an estate representative could claim it for the estate.

Heirs can file a claim. Probably have to show death certificate and relationship.

My dad's estate has a few bucks up there..But we have to get all my siblings..7 of them..together..1 of them that has gone incognito and another one that has torn her draws with most of us..So it's likely we will never see any of the money..
