Louisiana Traffic Ticket-Misdemeanor

I am completing a background check for a job. I received a speeding ticket in 2012 in Henderson for 82 in a 70. I paid the ticket, and have not received one since.
Is that technically a misdemeanor or a moving violation?
Do I need to report it as a misdemeanor on the background check.
I could not find the official law on the internet.

You do realize that internet legal advice is worth what you pay for it?
And a traffic ticket is differentiated from a criminal misdemeanor for purposes of a background check. Unless it is DWI or Reckless Driving which are considered criminal offenses. But this is generally speaking, backgrounds for things like Top Secret government clearances want you to list traffic tickets because they consider an inordinate amount to be indicative of you being reckless and irresponsible. But one won't frick you.

going 12mph over is a felony. so you don't have to check the misdemeanor box but you do have to check the felony box. hope this helps

10mph or less over the speed limit by Henderson cops = no ticket.
They only get the revenue for 10mph and over. 80 or over = ticket.
