Here's the only plaintiff in the entire case. This one clown is holding up the will of the majority of the voters on SG and he doesn't even live there.

Lamont Cole, a guy who moved out of his $375,000 house in one metro council district into a $500/month shite box apartment in another district where he decided to run for metro council. Ain't that some shite.

You’re dodging the question. Do YOU believe they should be allowed to?

I think the boundaries of any new city should make sense. They should be boundaries that have either been established over a long period of time or follow natural borders like rivers, creeks, and logical boundaries like highways and such.

When you skip neighborhoods that might vote against you its not really a boundary that makes sense in the context of recognizing a community.

Most of SG meets the description of your dream city. The Southern border of SG is Bayou Manchac, the Eastern border is the Amite River, and the far Western border is the Mississippi.

Where it gets hairy is on the northern and northwestern borders where it mostly meets BR or a few areas that were not supportive of the plan.

Go find a map of BR to find an example of a city that really been gerrymandered.

Initially SG people were criticized for including neighborhoods that were in opposition to SG.
After learning exactly which ones they were they dropped them. They reported this fact. They didn’t hide anything. There was nothing dishonest.

What’s dishonest is people reporting that SG is leaving Baton Rouge. What’s dishonest is taking millions of dollars from taxpayers and giving them back little in return.

SG didn’t do anything the leaders of the parish didn’t do when they redrew the tax district fir CATS excluding opponents to the new CATS tax.

well, this will never happen. republicans don’t govern over city states like the left. but unlike Greece, Athens and Sparta get to govern every Greek citizen with out without their consent

When the City of Baton Rouge used railroad property to pass up areas to connect the Mall of Louisiana and Seigen Lane Shopping center, so they can annex this area into the City of Baton Rouge that is way more shady.

Sad part is they cannot even provide the services properly to these areas such as BRPD and BRFD. They have to rely on the Sheriff's dept for backup and St George Fire District as the first responders.

People in BR pay higher taxes that supposedly cover services such as BRPD.

They also pay for EBRSO but if an area is being primarily covered by EBRSO instead of BRPD, why the frick is it in BR?

So these people pay EBRSO taxes and you're complaining that they are served by EBRSO? Weird.

The costs of BRPD outweigh those of EBRSO and the big selling point of being part of incorporated BR is that BRPD will respond to issues.

If you aren’t getting the benefits of incorporation, why are you paying the extra money?

They also do not pay for the St George Fire Dept.

Unincorporated areas do pay a taxes for protection from the sheriff’s office which cover the whole parish.

City of BR, City of Baker, City of Zachary, and the City of Central is suppose to provide City Police or pay for the sheriff’s dept to patrol.

Right now BRPD and BRFD do not have enough staff as it is to service the area. They lean on St George to provide the fire service.

Unfortunately, everyone in this parish pays indirectly for the BRPD which is a joke of a dept. Yes, people in Baker, Central, and Zachary indirectly pay for this and do not receive the services.

BRPD’s and BRFD’s bloated retirement system will come to light if St George does become a city. There is no way to hide it anymore in the City Parish budget.

This really is such a dual shite show and clown show. I feel like this split is going to happen at some point as St George has every legal right, but Baton Rouge is going to spend a decade making it miserably hard to do so.
