There's no way of knowing how proficient a gun owner that wants to open carry right now is. There is nothing stopping first time gun owner Joe blow from walking into a store with a gun on his hip right now. He can't conceal it, but he can carry it.

The idea that after passing constitutional carry there will be hoards of people rushing to go buy a gun and tuck it in their waistband is misguided. Conceal carrying is too uncomfortable and inconvenient for most. All this does is removes unnecessary red tape to exercise a fundamental right, which is always a good thing.

exactly. Very well said.

ow can you concealed carry a pistol at 18 but can’t purchase one until your 21… doesn’t make any sense.

How can you have a reasonable opinion on gun laws but don’t know the difference between your and you’re? It doesn’t make any sense.

If there's one thing you can say about those most passionate about gun rights, it's definitely that they're among the most eloquent thinkers in society.

Says the guy who cherry picks phrases and takes them out of historical context. "well regulated" in the vernacular of the day meant well trained.

With CCP's we had a way to ensure the holder had basic proficiency. Constitutional carry eliminates that.

You need a license to drive a car and demonstrate proficiency. It should be the same for a dangerous weapon capable of ending life, deliberately or accidentally. Like a car.

The biggest idiots are already carrying now. You really think this getting passed is going to make things worse?

Why do you need another man to teach you how to shoot? Just go to the range or out in the woods and practice until you’re good.

It was way beyond just shooting. I learned plenty of drills I can use to improve my skills. Those guys could pick up in little things I would never realize I was doing. I listened and learned and got immensely better.

If you are just starting out and go and shoot on your own and have no idea what you are doing you just end up with bad habits.

I saw plenty of guys in those classes that claimed they had been shooting for years and years that were terrible.

Yes I do.

Im 100% against this bill.

There’s no reason an 18 year kid with no firearms experience should be allowed to walk around with a concealed weapon with no questions asked.

Typical democrat. 18 is perfectly OK to die for this place, but can't even defend your life and liberty.

Let's not even touch on the fact that an 18yo can't even buy a pistol from a dealer.

Bro, I’m as conservative as they come and yes an 18 year old is perfectly capable to go fight for our country, after that person receives the proper education and training

Must be a new class at boot camp called concealed carry. Maybe I missed that day, but I doubt it.

One of my friends is a marine. He asked his CO why they never train with their pistols.

CO told him "Son if you ever need your sidearm in combat you're already fricked"

Any gun law is an affront to the Second Amendment and ought to be struck down with a quickness. The Second Amendment is very clear what it says.

This photo was taken recently at a NRA gun show in Indiana. This kids conservative parents are allowing him to break every rule of firearms at a young age. Maybe these “gun people” should learn about them before lecturing other people.
