Still way behind our neighbors but hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

They just put out the census report last week showing Louisiana losing 1.4% of its population.

Census Bureau just released state population totals for all 50 states. Listed below are the 2024 state population totals including the % of growth/loss for each state from 04/01/2020 to 04/01/2024 for SEC states. The number ranking indicates where each state ranks nationally in 2024 population:

5 fastest growing SEC states:

1) Florida - 8.24%

People who did well in the real estate market in Texas moving back to the lower property taxes of Louisiana.

The growth is probably all in Livingston and Ascension
