Without looking, I'd bet it's I20 corridor religious folk who don't want no legalized booty poking.

By removing a stupid law banning butt stuff? Yes, they did earn it. What a stupid law in the first place.

I'm not sure if this is the best example, but making a law for every damn thing you can imagine is ridiculous. Perhaps the nays were votes on that principle.

Laws against buttsex are pretty much trying to outlaw gays. North LA tends to be more Bible belt and intolerant than south LA so it would make sense that they'd try to stop this bill from passing.

I'm sure the nays had to do with this more than animal sex.

Perhaps, but as we stand now, sodomy isn't illegal in LA. In other words, it's not like this bill would have made it legal.

The measure does also specify that previously illegal forms of "sodomy" are no longer against the law.

"Anal sexual intercourse between two human beings shall not be deemed as a crime," part of the bill states.

Obviously the law was rule unconstitutional and they couldn't arrest people, but they refused to remove the law until now.

Do some of these legislators not understand the Obergefell decision? It’s like they think voting against sodomy or same sex marriage illegal is effective in any way.

The Lawrence v. Texas decision is more important in this instance.
