I don't work at Stone Pigman. I am in a small law firm by most big city standards (16 attorneys). We have only hired 3 baby lawyers in the last 5 years.
I'm a solo guy so I'm glad I don't have to worry about hiring lawyers.

I have a bud who runs a small Nola firm and he was getting apps from people who graduated from law schools like Harvard and Yale.

I'm not calling your friend a liar, but big firms here in Jackson would scoop you up on the name alone.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you could take that resume to most cities in the Southeast and get a damn good job.

One of the managing partners from one of the largest law firms in the city does work for me. He says he gets multiple attorney resumes for 35k paralegal jobs.

Now this I know is true.

I would like to welcome you all to the profession with the highest percentage of drug/alcohol abuse, depression, anxiety, and 2nd in suicide. I am willing to bet you all had several lawyers tell you "don't be a lawyer." But your self-importance told you that you are better than those losers. Enjoy living your life in 6 minute intervals. Assholes.
Way to rain on somebody's parade. Let these people enjoy today at the least.

I would not recommend a profession to anyone when most days your boss, client, secretary, opposing counsel, and the judge all hate you
Sounds like you are doing it wrong.

Jesus man, according to ALT 4, the market is saturated enough. Quit flaunting our fast-lane lifestyle around this board, we don't need any more kids signing up for law school

Yeah, the judges like me. The prosecutors like me. Heck, even the cops like me.
Opposing counsel is a crap shoot. If it's just us talking and they are being dicks I find that to be messed up. If they do it in front of their clients, I don't take it personal.

It's not really a mountain of debt. I graduated undergrad with zero debt and will graduate law school with roughly ~40k in debt. That's not bad at all.

Isn't the average $120k?

I'm really just fricking around. It's a tough field but money can be made if you work hard and you are intelligent. Now, associates go write me that memo.

I knew some people that had to have been closing in on $200,000 of combined undergrad and law school debt when I was in school.

I'm heading there momentarily for a wedding, should I drop my resume off at your office?
