The loud thunder from whatever weird thunder snow we are getting just woke me up. Looked out the window and my back deck is coated with ice pebbles.

06z GFS came back colder and more ice across much of S La. 1/4” ice from LC to BR. Only NO dodges the ice this run. It also gives us a couple single digits back in the Lafayette area.

WU was showing 23 on Monday night when I went to bed and 19 now.
I don't remember a time when the temp forecast swung as much as this one has.

Yeah mine in Houston now has a low of 12 for Monday. I am north in Kingwood so it may be a little different for the city but I doubt much.

One thing is certain...Fat Tuesday morning will be cold. But how cold?
The Euro shows wind chill values reaching the teens and the GFS...well, it's just ridiculous. Still plenty of uncertainty, but reality probably lies somewhere in between.
